Along with being a professional real estate photographer I am also a licensed real estate agent. I have photographed for many brokers and home staging companies over the years and have developed a keen sense of what home buyers and sellers are expecting to see in their real estate images. The Golden Rule of Real Estate Photography is to follow the photo posting guidelines of your MLS Board and as a licensed real estate agent I am aware of the rules regarding the content of images posted to the MLS.

Currently the trend in real estate photography is High Dynamic Range (HDR) imagery. I use HDR imagery with the emphasis on exposure merging, where all parts of the image are exposed in a similar fashion. An example would be when an interior shot is taken, and there is a exterior window in the frame. The light from the outside doesn’t over-expose with bright, blurry light. Instead you clearly see the content of both the interior and exterior of the shot in similar lighting.
